What is the Nexo like to drive?

A new article posted on InsideEV's shares their first impressions of what Hyundai's latest FCV is like to drive. Even though they acknowledged its a better vehicle overall than the Mirai, its still expensive to buy in and a pain to locate refuelling stations. An important note that's made is that even hydrogen vehicles are not '100% emission free'.

There is also the issue of the sheer cost of hydrogen. From just some basic math at $13/kg and the Nexos 6.3kg combined capacity, that's roughly $80 for around 380 miles. Really not great when compared to what you get for $25 in a traditional ICE.

Hundreds of billions are being invested into hydro stations so i don't imagine that lasting too long, early adopters do pay the price though.

Hydrogen is very expensive to transport, but we are already seeing new developments that aim to make it easier. With refill stations so sparse and far apart, its not exactly efficient to have it shipped around.

Seeing Shell showing interest is boosting my confidence in going hydrogen. In recent months they've been doing soft launches.

It makes more sense to me to build these out at pre existing locations than building whole new stations. We've seen Shell go the same route with super chargers in Europe.

The video from Redline Reviews gives a good look at what it's like driving and refuelling the Nexo.
